JULY 1st
Election
Sunday, July 1st will be a big day in Mexico. A big day with a big election.
This year’s ballots will present no fewer than 18,311 positions for the nation’s consideration, including the choice of a successor to President Enrique Pena. Most of these choices are local, but the number remains impressive.
There are numerous new factors in play, including laws affecting term limits and the more than 12 million millennials entering the voting pool for the first time. The political issues, global and local are more complicated than ever.
Mexico and the world will have to wait for that big day to see how it all turns out.
