NOM Renewal
Maintaining your certification. The mark generally expires after one year.
There are 7 different NOM certification schemes. The first one is most relevant to product certification, known as “Recurrent Evaluation of Product Samples”. As the name implies, more than one initial test is mandated to keep the NOM mark in good standing. After the initial lab results are obtained and submitted, a NOM mark is issued.
After 12 months, new product samples are submitted for the renewal process. If the specifications have not changed, no new technical material are needed. After passing testing, the certificate is renewed for one year.
